Emily Heath is in her mid-thirties and has been a councillor for Scotforth West ward since 1999. She lives in the ward, and works part-time as a lecturer in Environmental Sciences at Lancaster University. She is a member of the Council’s Overview & Scrutiny Committee and the multi-agency Sustainability Partnership. She likes walking in woods and hilly places, and gave up flying in 1995 to minimise her carbon footprint. She is also the NW regional co-ordinator of the Green Party.

Jane Fletcher lives in Scotforth West, the ward she represents. She is motivated by the problem of Fuel Poverty and runs a business advising on insulation, heating and renewable technology measures to reduce people’s bills, energy consumption and carbon emissions. She is also a qualified English teacher and has worked as a Lecturer at Lancaster and Morecambe College and previously taught at Crookhey Hall School for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Jane has served on a number of Council Task Groups – which has recently involved supporting local schools facing closure under Labour’s Academies programme. She is also a member of the Planning & Licensing Committees. In her spare time she enjoys dancing, cooking and going to the theatre and cinema.
