Cllr Jon Barry
Jon Barry is 44 and lives on Willow Lane on the Marsh. He is a founder member and trustee of the Marsh Community Centre and has been responsible for much of the fundraising to build and run the centre. He is also a member of the Fairfield allotments committee and the Fairfield Orchard Trust. He works part-time as a statistical advisor to Government fisheries scientists In his spare time he enjoys working on his allotments in Fairfield and Bowerham, playing cricket for Torrisholme and cycling around the Bowland Fells. He shares a Parson Russell terrier and a Tibetan Terrier (very hairy) with his partner Gill. On the Council, Jon is responsible for waste and recycling, grounds maintenance, toilets and litter as well as the Council’s new Climate Change strategy.

Cllr Chris Coates
Chris Coates is both a City Councillor and County Councillor for Lancaster Central Division, which covers Castle Ward, Scotforth West and parts of the rural area to the south of Lancaster including Glasson Dock and Cockerham. He is Chair of the Marsh Community Centre Trustees, a Trustee of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) – Lancaster .Chris is a time-served carpenter who now works as a freelance project manager on community based construction projects. The last major project he worked on was an extension for the offices of the Ecology Building society. He lives on Coverdale Road with his partner.

Cllr Melanie Forrest
Melanie Forrest has lived for many years in Sibsey Street and Westbourne Road. She works three days a week as a mental health nurse – working with and caring for people in the community. She has been active in Castle Ward since 2003, helping councillors and carrying out community projects. For example, in the last year she has arranged for delivery of sandbags to houses on Willow Lane that are vulnerable to flooding; organised and taken part in at least three community litter picks; and publicised and taken part in work to help get Dallas Road Boys’ Club’s field back into community use.
