Cllr Andrew Kay
Andrew Kay is married and has two boys. He has lived in Bulk for the last 15 years and has been an active campaigner on many community and national issues, including; “It’s Our City” and Lancaster Coalition Against the War. He works for social services at White Cross and is Unison rep there. He is also a former Labour councillor.

Cllr Maia Whitelegg
Maia has a four-year old son; she is actively involved in child care provision issues and campaigns to keep the local area and canal clean. She is Cabinet member with responsibility for Culture, Leisure, Sport and Young People and Personnel. She has worked in business administration in various European countries.

Cllr John Whitelegg
John lives with his wife Midge on Derwent Road. They have an allotment nearby, and four grown up children. John runs a consultancy business, and is internationally renowned for his expertise in transport and regeneration. He also helped to set up the Freehold Community Association and Gregson Centre. John is the deputy chair of the Local Government Association “Regenerationand Transport Board”. He is also the transport policy liaison councillor for the Association of Green Councillors

County Cllr Sam Riches
Sam was elected as the County Councillor for the Electoral Division of Lancaster East in June 2009. Lancaster has been her home for the last four years. Besides being a councillor Sam works part-time as the Co-ordinator of the Centre for North-West Regional Studies, which is based at Lancaster University. She has a background in adult education, especially organising open-access courses, and sometimes teaching them, in the areas of history, archaeology and ecology. “The North-West of England is a fascinating area which has a vibrant history going back over 2,000 years, and I’m delighted to be able to do my bit to allow the people who live here to access their heritage.” Sam lives in the Lancaster East division, on Kentmere Road, which runs between the Ridge estate and the Freehold area.
