The closure threat is part of a nationwide plan to axe up to 2500 Post Offices from the network. Glasson County Councillor Chris Coates, said “Axing local post offices affects some customers more than others; those on lower incomes, people with disabilities and carers, female customers and those over 65. Coast to Coast

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

coast-to-coast.jpgCoast to Coast - the amazing story of Mark Whiteley & Daniel Hoffman-Gill’s 216 miles walk across Great Britain. Walking from Bangor in Wales to Boston in Lincolnshire with no money, no food and no where to sleep, their only currency was a 90 minute comedy/storytelling show and it had to be good otherwise they’d starve. They did not starve but they did come very close to dying in Cerrigydrudion.

” Last year we walked 216 miles across the country with no money, no food and no accommodation. This is the story of our adventure. We slept in a field, a Buddhist retreat and Mason’s Lodge. We met John who spoke to God, Danny who taught us how to forage for food from the skip behind Lidl and Weird Doug who was just ……weird.”

Glasson Dock Village Hall. 8:00 pm. Tickets available at Glasson Dock Village Store or on the door - adults £4.00, children £2.50. Any enquiries phone Mary Stalker on 01524 751749 or Claire Hawkins on 01524 751300. Full details at http://www.glassondock.co.uk click on What’s On
