The Ginnel

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

fpclosed.jpgThe closure of the ginnel connecting Park Rd with Derwent Rd without any consultation with residents and without any improvement to the alternatives has created lots of stress and upset. The ginnel has been closed on safety grounds because of building work on the grammar school site

Cllr John Whitelegg has been battling since July to sort this out and has been blocked at every turn. The grammar school cannot say how long the ginnel will be closed and there has now been a case of a local resident injured in a fall on the path through the Dell. John has asked the City Council to repair and improve the path through the Dell. We continue to press for the ginnel to be re-opened and for the path through the Dell to be improved.
