A group of ten residents joined Green Party Councillors on a community litter pick on Quay Meadows last saturday. Between them they picked over 20 bags of rubbish and an assortment of junk & rubish including an abandoned barbeque and a heap of wire.
Local Green Party member Melanie Forrest said ” At first the area look quite clean, but when you got into the undergrowth there was an amazing ammount of rubbish.”
The Litter Pick was the first of the Spring Actibvities of Castle Ward Green Party – the next Litter Pick will be on Coronation Fields on March 14th.
