Green Party cabinet member Jon Barry said: “We are faced with trying to set a budget in two weeks after the previous leader failed to do so in 9 months. Most groups on the cabinet lost confidence in Cllr Mace’s ability to set the budget some time ago. I have made a preliminary attempt at a budget and I will be talking with other groups and officers in the next week to pool ideas and to try to come to a concensus. Fleetwood Town Council Plans in Chaos

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

tram.jpgPlans for a Fleetwood Town, or Parish, Council were thrown into disarray after a meeting of Wyre Council voted against the proposal – with a councillor from Garstang having the casting vote. Members of Fleetwood Action Group said after the meeting that Wyre Council had no grounds whatsoever to do anything else but approve the bid for the Fleetwood town/parish council.

The Action Group is urging supporters of a Fleetwood Town Council to attend their next meeting on February 10. where they will be discussing the next steps after what they feel has been an undemoctratic council vote. The meeting will take place at the Senior Citizens Hall in Warrenhurst Road starting at 7pm.
