Mental Health Unit – Latest

ra-fields.jpgAt a meeting on January 6th of the County Council’s Health Overview & Scrutiny committee Lancashire Care Trust confirmed their intention to push ahead with the Royal Albert Fields site as its preferred location for a new mental health unit in North Lancashire.. This was despite strong criticism of its selection procedure by the Committee (see Task group report.)and calls from local Green Councillors for the whole process to be scrapped and started again.

County Councillor Chris Coates said after the meeting ” As I understand it, is that the Care Trust intend to submit a planning application for the Royal Albert fields site - this may be anytime in the next 2 years. This leaves local residents in the awful situation of not knowing what is going to happen. I still believe that the consultation was so poor that the whole process should started again.”
