Link Road in Court
The challenge by a Torrisholme resident to the Secretary of State’s decision to uphold the planning application for the Heysham M6 link road will be heard in the High Court on the 28th/29th August. The case against the road is being brought by Mrs Davies, a former teacher at Lancaster & Morecambe college, who has lived in Torrisholme for 40 years. She was granted legal aid to challenge the decision to grant planning permission for the road earlier in the year. Earthights, the lawyers representing Mrs. Davies, will argue that the environmental assessment of the scheme presented to the public inquiry by the County Council was inadequate and that the Council failed to properly assess alternatives to road building
