West End Recycling Made Easy

recycle-bins.jpgRecycling is being made easy for residents in the West End of Morecambe. Lancaster City Council, in association with Winning Back Morecambe’s West End, is making changes to the way waste is collected to help reduce litter and improve recycling.Five mini-recycling bring sites have been created in various locations around the West End where residents can deposit recyclable waste.
Coun Jon Barry, cabinet member with responsibility for City Council (Direct) Services, said: “The West End of Morecambe is a challenging area in which to introduce recycling because there are many flats that can’t accommodate wheelie bins and boxes. We believe we have come up with a solution which we hope will benefit both our residents and the environment.”

The mini-recycling ‘bring sites’ can be found at:

  • The corner of Sefton Road and Cavendish Road
  • Alexandra Road (park entrance opposite Cambridge Road)
  • Promenade behind the West End Gardens
  • Devonshire Road, on the pedestrian area between Parliament Street and East Street
  • Highfield Crescent
