Glasson School Wins Green Prize
Green-minded school children from Thurnham Glasson CE Primary School have scooped top prize for their recycling efforts. 37 primary schools in the area have been enthusiastically collecting batteries as part of a Lancashire County Council sponsored competition.
Glasson County Councillor Chris Coates said after the award “This is a real achievement for such a small village school. Everyone involved should be congratulated.”” Glasson School scooped the first prize of a brand new laptop computer. During the latest round of the ‘Tune in to Battery Recycling’ scheme, schools in Lancaster have collectively diverted 38,300 batteries from landfill.
