Safe Crossing for Local Children
Cllr Maia Whitelegg has been campaigning for the replacement of Lollipop crossing posts. Lancashire County Council has been unable to replace lollipop crossings positions and there have been a number of vacant posts in the district, including 2 in Bulk Ward (Keswick Rd/Kentmere Rd and Derwent Rd outside Christ Church School).
As a result, the County Council has recently announced a campaign to fill vacant posts and the Kentmere/Keswick vacancy has now been filled. Cllr Maia Whitelegg welcomed this announcement saying: “I am delighted that County Council are now listening to residents’ concerns regarding safe crossings for local children. These roads present real dangers to local children and I am keen to see all these positions filled as soon as possible”.
