Enough is Enough

ccmill.jpgThe controversial plans for the canal corridor have been hit by a series of set backs over the past few weeks. On top of objections to Centros Millers plans from Argos, the Dukes Theatre & the local Chamber of Commerce, English Heritage have weighed in saying that the scheme will destroy the historic fabric of that part of the city.

Bulk Ward Cllr Maia Whitelegg said: “Enough is enough. The time has come to reject the Centros Miller scheme and go back to the drawing board. We need to go back to square one and come up with a new brief for the area that has real community involvement, that protects the existing city centre, promotes our heritage and avoids creating traffic gridlock.”

Lancaster City Council Planners have sent Centros Millers plans back to the developers saying that in there current state they could not recommend them for approval.
